The Fandoms I am in :P
Saiki K (斉木楠雄のΨ難)
Ahh yes Saiki K a show about a highschool boy named Saiki Kusuo (斉木楠雄) (commonly reffered to as Saiki) who was born with psychic powers and his chaotic life with his friends, classmates and family.
He desires to be the average normal person with a very generic and linear way of living but alas, due to an incident that will be discovered near the end of the show he is unable satisfy his desire to live a peaceful and generic life.
Now all of that is out of the way my fav character in this show is KAIDOU
Kaidō Shun (海藤 瞬), what can i say he's.. delusional for sure and his motivations in the show may seem strange and even very immature for his age but tbh, if i believed in the existence of aan international organisation trynna get me id prob act like him too and u know wwhat? i love that about him, how his guardian spirit is a cchihuahua, how childish and gullible he is, to me there just this certain charm to him and even thoigh this anime does take all the very ggeneric tropes of anime characters and exagerates them 10 fold, including how saiki the main character is over-powered and can basically do anything, Teruhashi bbeing the girl eeverybody crushes on, how Toritsuka is the stereotypical pervert that ssteals underwear, i tthink tthis show is one of the more actually funny animes ive seen so far because it actually makes me laugh. 10/10.
and also, Nendō.. he.. he is.. uhh
Neon Genesis Evangelion (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン)
This fucked up, wretched piece of shit for an anime, i love it 10/10.
This show really changed my way of thinking. I can really relate to how Rei Ayanami (綾波 レイ) experiences existential crisis and finally gain a sense of individuality and the self, or Shinji (碇シンジ) with his self worth issues and existential dread. And there are many parts in this anime that needs to bbe questioned but the thing is, this anine showed what it means to be human.
As we live in this hell hole we call home theres this thing tthat we keep living through aand that is suffering. Suffering is something shared by all living beings. What would life be without suffering, nothing. We have the choice to keep living through it or to escape it all and it seems like mmost of humanity chose to keep on living, why?
It seems like humanity has this utter need or desire to live, to experience, to connect, to make an impact, and even though we're living through this era that seems like itll lead to apocalypse, we all have hope. we hope for better days or greener pastures even though we cant control evverything that happens in our lives. MMankind will prevail, just like whats shown at the end of the series with the world all messed up. it really showed mee that the human spirit is stronger than i thought aand as Im going through something myself rn, pain, addiction, hhopelessness annd dread i think i needed this.
This anime isnt only about sum 14 yos on robots with daddy issues, it shows what too much can do to the person, how they experience it and no matter whhat happens thhey can still recover.
Azumanga Daioh (あずまんが大王)
Heavy contrast with the show i just mentioned above, Azumanga Daioh is lighthearted, slice of life anime showing the journey of the main characters through highschool. its very wholesome, the scenes are funny strange and sometimes i cry watching them. The anime is slow paced and calming, its not fast and full of glorious fight scenes or anything yet its perfect!
it has such a simple premise yet its made so well, ts will stick with me for my whole life. i escpecially love when theyd go to Chiyo's summer house at summer holiday.(me saying that doesnt mean i like chiyo, she can go die in the deepest pits of hell, she deserves it.)
My fav characters are Osaka or Kasuga Ayumu (春日歩/“大板”) for obvious reasons, and Kaori (かおり) cus she mad in love with Sakaki and not only do i love her because ofthe yuri, but also because im mad in love w someone aswell (a boy :D homophobes out now!).
Death Note (デスノート)
